Tanks are found on the front lines of armed conflicts around the world. The German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) possess two state-of-the-art models: the Puma infantry fighting vehicle and the Leopard main battle tank. In a crisis, the Bundeswehr's mechanized infantry are at the forefront of the fight with the Puma infantry fighting vehicle. The combat troops can engage the battle at any time, even outside the tank. The Leopard main battle tank fights at greater distances, individually, in platoons of four, or in conjunction with the infantry fighting vehicle. Training to become a mechanized infantryman demands everything from the soldiers.

The German Navy primarily defends the Baltic Sea. The highest training standards apply within the German Armed Forces for this purpose. The greatest challenge is combat training.
Everyone has a specific task aboard a frigate. During combat exercises, both external and internal security are ensured. In contrast, submarines lack any luxuries. There, the sailors perform their duties in extremely confined spaces, without sunlight, and underwater.
