In 1697, accused witch Moll Dyer was driven out of her home during a deadly freeze by an angry mob in Leonardtown, MD. The town blamed her for the cold temperatures and legend says she froze to death moments after cursing the town in a vengeful rage. Julia Brown, a mysterious voodoo priestess, sang, “When I die, I’ll take the whole town with me” scaring Frenier, LA residents. After she died, the town was wiped off the map by a hurricane.

In Central Florida, there is a cursed section of highway known as the "I-4 Dead Zone." This legend dates back to the highway’s construction when workers broke ground over old graves. Disturbing the graves is said to have caused a hurricane to change its course to inland Florida, right over the construction site.

Bodie State Park in northern California is an abandoned ghost town and the home of a frightening curse. The legend dates back to the town’s founder W.S. Bodey, when he died in a blizzard just before striking it rich in the gold-filled mountains. Now, anyone who dares to take something from Bodie will suffer the consequences of some of the most extreme weather in the country.
