His adviser, Jared Kushner, suggested they air his anti-immigration ad campaign during the breaks of The Walking Dead. Viewers were primed by the show to feel afraid and under seige. The message hit its mark.

The zombie canon saw the grisly light of day with a 1968 film by George Romero: The Night of the Living Dead. But it wasn't just a horror movie, but a product of its time and its society. It's a revolution!
The Zombie comes from Haitian folklore. Zombification is the ultimate punishment in which society robs criminals of their freewill to turn them into servile slaves. Zombies are not inhuman, but humans outcast from society. And that is what makes them the living dead. In the West, even if we don't call them that, we also have our zombies.
